High public engagement is... bad?..

people organized to manipulate the results...

to support a moderate tax increase...

to fund public services instead of the VPD...

🤦‍♀️
Montague asking if budget survey could be filled out multiple times by one individual; that there may be an organized effort to manipulate the results. Asks what a fully funded VPD looks like

One wonders: how did Haussmann get his variances for stormwater, stepbacks and parking?

ABC ran on a platform of improving operational efficiency, but they seem to just step on a rake every time it comes to execution and make problems worse
Sources at the city tell CTV News that cuts to positions that review development permits, bylaws and rezoning applications could impact project timelines.

The average renter of a 1 bedroom apartment has already received notice that their total rent for 2025 will be $660 more than last year.

For the average $2.2M single family home, last year's 3.9% property tax increase cost them $150.

Larch & 2nd is a relatively small new apartment. As a connected point access block it would require 3 egress stairs for the number of dwellings on each floor.

Macdonald & 4th is made to look like three buildings, but its 99 dwellings would require 5 stairs.

An entirely normal reaction to current separate policies being consolidated into a single plan coordinating direction for the city that does not actually making any changes to existing circumstances

The chance any ABC candidates win a seat on the park board next election looks pretty slim

Will anyone even want to run on Sim's slate?
Does he just not run PB candidates to avoid clear defeat compared to last election's majority?
Does he still keep pushing the issue anyways?
🚨 PARK BOARD NEWS 🚨

I've been told that the B.C. government WILL BE RETRACTING its bill to allow Vancouver to hold a referendum to get rid of the park board.

It might return next year, but I understand more work is needed re: disputes with Sim, and further consultations with First Nations.

Alas I am a prissy princess and I like being centrally located and able to walk everywhere (To the west of me is Kitsilano, Mt Pleasant is east, north is downtown, and south... well, I don't usually go south but I could if I wanted to)
