No country is without sin in this regard - yet we seek to hold Ukraine to a perfect standard in order to justify EU membership - they are literally spilling blood and giving their youth to defend Europe yet we find endless excuses to defer EU and NATO membership- we should be ashamed

US recognition means nothing - it’s only significance is the pressure it can apply to Ukraine through the withdrawal of US support for Ukraine when they - quite rightly - reject such recognition. Europe must put its big boys pants on and ignore the US and fully support Ukraine
