This isn't to say there's no intent behind Aloy's design. I wouldn't say it's "realistic" but it certainly leans toward a much more realistic style. More detail to the fabric, how the armor is joined, all of that. Despite my complaints, it communicates that she's a post-apocalyptic survivor.

I'm reminded of how Scott McCloud wrote of the simple color palettes that defined early superheroes. Green with bits of purple IS the Incredible Hulk.

Dunkey said it when complaining about Knack: You can recognize any child's drawing of Mario.

There are plenty of highlights of color in her design, but no real defining colors beyond a general brown-ness with bits of metal.

Compare that to BotW Link. The blue tunic is iconic, but beyond that, he's divided into distinct color zones. Dark blond hair, gray pants, brown boots.

The most I can say is that she has the kinda interesting braided hair that goes up. But not enough to be distinct. It doesn't stick out enough to define her silhouette (nowhere near Bayonetta's beehive) and the color doesn't stand out against any of her clothing or accessories.

Before I even get into the details, it really just boils down to this: Can you tell me a single memorable aspect of this design? Is there a defining trait by which you recognize her? If you forgot her name and origin and had to describe her, could you do so in one sentence?

I'm bored and failing to motivate myself to be productive on things that actually matter, so I feel like rambling about a random pet peeve of mine:

What's the deal with Aloy from Horizon's character design? I haven't played the games and have nothing against them, but her design is so bland.

Apparently my channel is big enough now that someone did a reaction video to it. No beef with that channel but funny to learn that by getting a comment like this.

I think I'm confused, because I'm seeing the word strike in what they gave me, and it already says if I get three of these, my channel is done. Is this the first stage or the second stage? Might be because my channel isn't monetized yet, I'm not at 4k watch hours yet.
