That's so funny. My family spent some time in both places earlier this summer and we thought the exact same thing.

And when appropriate, tie a National Day into a piece of content. Like today, if you see a Veteran K-9, be sure to thank them for their service. And go ahead, open that umbrella indoors (but do so at your own risk 😀).

Some examples include:

Tell stories about how you helped others just like them
Invite your audience to a webinar about your industry
Share helpful perspectives they can't get elsewhere
Demonstrate outcomes of your product/service
Provide tips to make their lives easier

Use National Days when appropriate (if you must), but also use the intel and information you have that your audience values to consistently create content they can use.

Does each of these warrant its own day?

That's not for me to say. But what I do want to say is this:

Planning content to only coincide with National Days related to your industry is not an effective content plan.

That is worth a hell of a lot more than $50 per 1,000 words. I wish more freelancers would see that and the value they provide so they have the confidence to charge more. Otherwise, the race to the bottom will go on.

Writing copy and content is more than putting words on a page.

It's about understanding your business, your customer, their challenges, what it means to overcome them, how you can help, how you can compel them to move toward a decision, how to make them happy, how to keep them happy, etc.
