This is the third sentencing this month where Just Stop Oil supporters have avoided prison sentences, even after spending time on remand

Many of the prisoners had been held in cells on remand since July 2024, despite not taking action or causing any disruption at Heathrow Airport as accused. They will now be released.

Some of the defendants are to pay £2,000 court costs for a trial which lasted 7 weeks. 2/3

Today, 14 February, the Home Office has finally announced the sacking of Lord Walney and the axing of his role as ‘Independent Adviser on Political Violence and Disruption’.

A 10-day trial is underway in Manchester for 5 people who allegedly planned to cause nonviolent disruption at Manchester airport in order to highlight the desperate need for action on climate change.

They must receive a fair trial.
