The Society's Blue Sky feed run by the Director with an interest in all things archaeological especially archaeological method, geophysics and fieldwork. Have been known to publish a few things on coins and stats too. Always looking for speakers!
My first experience of geophysics was there... in about 1985 or so.

Everything was sieved. The sieved soil was kept on site and used as backfill. The residue (once you had sorted it) was dumped on an ever-growing spoil heap in the carpark and removed in the off season.

There used to be a concrete post a long while ago but then someone noticed there was a gap between the modern support and the bottom of the entrance so they took it away. Apart from some repointing, there isn't any other "modern assistance" now.

There are some aspects of the modern world that make me despair, but having high-accuracy GPS isn't one of them! I may like using 80 year old cameras but I'm happy to leave the theodolite on the shelf! I do find, however, the 28.28 is a number I never forget...

I'll be at TAG this year for the first time in... umm... 30 years? I still have my "EuroTAG" teeshirt from Southampton and one from Lampeter. Neither are in a fit state to wear but I'm loath to bin them.
