Discussed this with my husband (Barrister) last evening. A UK court would not allow this to proceed.
There is no reputational damage as he has no reputation to damage. His many convictions and history of being a vexatious litigant weigh against him. He is an extortionist, not be countentanced.

It’s too early for any social media discourse about Christmas songs, we haven’t finished poppy day yet - that officially ends when companies are forced to apologise for sending automated messages during the two minutes silence.

Back on Twitter, I would now have to write an immediate follow-up post making it crystal clear that I was joking, and I’d be doing no such thing. Otherwise some numpty would take a screenshot out of context and send it to the GMC and/or my employer leading to a long, tedious exchange of emails.

I might start itemising and billing my anaesthetics… “Would sir prefer the House Sevoflurane, or the vintage TIVA?”, “Will madam be enjoying some antiemetics with today’s anaesthesia?”

Good Lord. I’m early 40s, and this was depressingly new to me. I dread to think where the next 20 years of technological advancement will take us back to.

£12,000,000 for an out of court settlement and a gag order isn’t a very robust denial.

This deferential, humble way that “politicians don’t comment on the Royal Family” is a silly old convention, especially when we’re talking about £12m of public money being used to shut up a rape accuser.

The result is that now nobody really knows what he stands for - and that translates into untrustworthiness, or ineptitude. This whole football thing is a massive unforced error on his part, and whatever happens, he can’t get a political win out of this.

I don’t think Keir Starmer is a particularly bad person, I think he’s receiving **terrible** advice from people and he’s tied himself in absolute knots in trying not to upset racists.

I tried to trade in one of my OBEs to get off a speeding ticket, and that didn’t get me anywhere.
