This red kite painting was inspired by the red kites at Bwlch Nant yr Arian red kite feeding centre, near Aberystwyth. In 1999, Bwlch Nant yr Arian became a red kite feeding station as part of a programme to protect the small number of red kites in the area at that time. #oilpainting

Unlike other members of the canine family, foxes are not considered to be pack animals. Foxes tend to live by themselves or in small family groups. Like you're own dog, foxes love to play, they will play alone, but also with other foxes and sometimes other animals. #FoxOfTheDay #Foxes

I bought a couple of Winsor & Newton brushes once, they cost me about five pounds each and I ruined them in a week. Oil painters don't need expensive brushes, just clean ones, that's why you should try a metal brush washer... chrischalkart.com/painting_blo...

My favourite fox from last year, 'Cobweb Nose', coming to investigate what was making all the noise. It was me making all he noise, thinking I was being silent. Foxes have incredible hearing, it's said a fox can hear a watch ticking from 40 meters away. #FoxOfTheDay #nature #foxes

'Across the Preselis', oil - East across Pembrokeshire's Preseli mountains here in West Wales. In the distance there is Foel Drygarn and Frenni Fawr. The Preseli mountains, or hills, rise to 536m above sea level, and are located in the northern half of Pembrokeshire.
