On the best of days, we remember that California (as far-flung and populous as it is) is a community. Mutual aid is one of the great reminders of this collective responsibility for the people we share our society with.

I’ll never forget the immense gratitude I felt to all of the mutual aid responding agencies during the Tubbs fire. We have been checking in with locals today to see what resources our district has been able to send to help - and so far the North coast has deployed more than 65
