Holy shit, just learned about the typewriter art of Montserrat Alberich Escardívol, a Catalan typist. Using an extra wide typewriter and 180 color ribbons, she built up elaborate images from simple characters like 'm' and '.' and ';'. Here is her typewritten painting of the Cathedral of Barcelona.

Many races on the King County ballot, including for the mayor of Seattle, are within one percentage point of each other. Please verify that your ballot was counted, and if not, you can “cure” your ballot to ensure that it counts.
You have to send this link to everyone you know who voted I Seattle: info.kingcounty.gov/kcelections/... It takes like 30 seconds to make sure your vote was counted. Folks on here have all seen this probably, but your friends and family might not have!

BOOM. Wilson closes the gap, with many more ballots left. This is a tremendous result for her.

She trails Harrell by just 1.9% and 4,300 votes. There are many more ballots remaining than at this point in the primary count.

Bonus election viz: here's how precincts shifted towards @wilsonforseattle.bsky.social (more orange) or away from Wilson (more blue) based on election night data, from the primary to the general election. Thanks @katherinemitchell.bsky.social for the suggestion! #seaElex #seattle #dataviz

It costs so much more to incarcerate a homeless person than it does to give them a permanent, supportive home. I’ve talked to multiple voters in Seattle who still favor the punitive approach, yet would call themselves fiscally conservative.
This sounds extreme, but is basically what many anti-homeless activists here in "blue" Seattle are advocating for: Involuntary commitment for homeless people with mental illness that manifests in visible symptoms, mandatory "accountability" for addicts, eliminating visible homelessness ("tents").
