Too much acetaminophen is bad for your liver so respect the max dose on the bottle and go easy on the booze.

Too much ibuprofen is bad for the stomach so respect the max dose on the bottle and maybe have some famotidine with it.

Too much Epstein news is bad for the president. Not my problem.
JD Vance calls ibuprofen "useless medication" and implies it's not "necessary, safe and effective."

My sisters inlaws were there, who voted for 🍊 so I thanked them for their vote to get our family deported, and now the tables mad at me.

Then sister's MIL chimes in at the end, "if he tries again he has my vote!"

And argument ensues, before my SIL shuts her mom and brother up

News about the Continuous Glucose Monitor (the one that insists on “biological sex”): it has decided I have a goal of at most 60 “points” a day but the definition of those points is, I kid you not, proprietary.

And, in general, you can work on any political project anywhere in the US -without- voting! A disenfranchised former prisoner can organize to their heart's content, and so can a non-citizen, and so can children younger than voting age. 🤷‍♀️

There are many detailed rules about politics participation and citizenship. They tend to be pretty restrictive as it is. But apparently a bunch of supposedly progressive people are perfectly happy to make up new ones if it fits a story. None of you actually give a shit about immigrants, do you?
Do you think that San Francisco Dem clubs should reject foreigners? Because I promise you they don’t. They have rules that say if you’re not eligible to register as a Democrat, you must declare an intent to do so if and when you become able, and that’s it.

No he is not. There’s no need to make up restrictive rules about immigrants that don’t even actually exist just because this particular immigrant is an asshole. The climate is bad enough. Too many Dems voted to repeal noncitizen local voting rights in DC recently. Actually support immigrants ffs.

A Colombian couple prayed with neighbors and raised their children in one of America’s most influential churches. What did we gain from their deportation?

People should be free to transition as often as they want to, and two is a number.
Detransition is being used as political fodder by the Trump admin and its allies to support extreme anti-trans policies.

In the process, the reality of detransition is lost. For our new series, I spoke with detransitioners who feel harmed by the Trump admin. Their stories are complex and important.
Detransition is key to politicians’ anti-trans agenda. But what is it really like?
The 19th spoke with two detransitioners who feel harmed and used by the Trump administration, which has positioned itself as a protector of those who detransition.

The entire world of plumbing engineering design theory could be distilled into 5 groups, each of which were developed in the US, UK, Germany/Switzerland, Scandinavia, and the former USSR. These still serve as the basis for plumbing codes in every region I’ve looked at.

Republicans have a lot of sympathy for the poor Hungarians who were ordered to integrate their schools in 2023. (I doubt they’ve actually done it, by the way. No lower level euro-courts to monitor compliance, everything goes through member state legal systems.)

Kyle Kingsbury is, for what it's worth, a VERY respected researcher in a field I did a whole bunch of work in (databases and concurrency stuff).
Kyle Kingsbury is not a journalist. He is not an op-ed writer.

He is a computer safety researcher.

And he has written one of the most compelling, comprehensive accounts of the ongoing hell in Chicago that you could possibly imagine.

In under 1600 words.

5) Dems showed (a) it's possible to get something out of "shutting down the government" despite what the pundits said, and (b) that they could hold together for 40 days. It's not a policy win, but it changes expectations for what they can do in the future, strengthening their negotiating position.
