I’m just a guy that builds stuff for the web.
My new favorite for frontend testing: Copilot + Playwright MCP. Excellent for running/monitoring UI tests with detailed logs, code references, screenshots, and test playbacks. Makes implementing fixes faster and easier.

Thinking of using this as my professional headshot.

(This from the other weekend where I ripped out moldy/mildew flavored carpet from our basement)

Finding quiet moments

My kids kept saying, "I'm bored!" or "I don't know what to do!"—so I built a quick app to fix that.

Press a button (or spacebar), and it suggests a random activity! The list is weighted for better control over what pops up.

The code is open-source if you wanna check it out: bit.ly/3F0VuP2

I tend to agree with him. If you're going to do it, at least use these. Game changer!

A new book for Christmas break
December 23, 2024 at 9:27 PM
"What do you use your stream deck for when all you do is meet on video calls for work?"

So I can activate Christmas mode in my office. Starts my Christmas playlist and starts the scenes for my shelf, desk, and ceiling lights.

The joy it brings me to annoy some team members with this...priceless

This is peek development…using ms paint to plan/outline nested object hierarchy. Today’s “fun” was creating a service that converts excel files that document process workflows into a structured format.

Friends, please don’t let friends use excel for documentation.

Standup meetings are about to be lit...my team would walkout on me if I started a call like this.

The pup is doing great after her surgery. High as a kite, but good.

A fire, Badger football, a glass of Lagunitas IPA, VS Code, and Lego (the “kid’s”). A cozy little Saturday evening.

Every year, I reflect on the past and plan for the future. Last year, the team’s focus was survival—migrating a legacy system with TBs of data while keeping the ship afloat. This year, we’re shifting to growth, using our compass to steer toward clarity, momentum, and the right direction. (Draft 1)

I HIGHLY recommend this book if you're a leader at any level.

I had the pleasure of meeting Brian multiple times during a Series B round, and I can attest that he is an amazing person and leader.

This is not a book of theory; it is a book about what he did and how he led. bit.ly/2AxFdA0

Yuuuup! I’m trying to get rid of this monstrosity that lives in our shared desk area.

I’ve been working on a personal project to create a digital touchscreen planner (like ones from skylight and cozyla) and it’s finally starting to come together.

Stack: .net 8, Blazor + Radzen, and SQL. Nothing crazy. Just simple.
