Black thinkers & activists have been saying the same thing for more than 150 yrs: the rights, laws, & programs passed by Congress are meaningless if white Americans remain unwilling to enforce them.
After the police chief in Columbia, SC murdered a Black resident in cold blood, an anonymous Black woman wrote to the govt in May 1866: "Our friends in Congress are wasting time & breath, & all the bills they may pass, will do us no good, unless men are sent here that will see these laws enforced."

I know this may come across as unreasonable, but I feel like when I pick up an officially licensed TTRPG adaptation of some piece of media, it shouldn't be a coin toss whether there will be any mechanism for playing as the sorts of characters the game's ostensible source material is actually about.

I have paid very little attention to the Avatar: the Last Airbender TRPG (not into licensed games that much, not into Magpie Games that much), and this thread is the first time I've become aware that the Avatar RPG doesn't actually let anyone play as the Avatar from the show about the Avatar

here's a thing a lot of ai-lovers dont understand
yes real people make lots of mistakes, probably more than some ai prompts
but when i see mistakes made by a human, i understand the mistakes reflect a unique style, and the work they did to make it makes the mistakes worth it
