We are a dedicated team of school psychologists supporting students of Wake County, North Carolina on their journey to career and college readiness.
You know we're operating at full capacity as a district when we have all our staff & interns making the magic happen.
Happy end of the first week of school! And if you're like my middle schooler who declared, "I'm like eyes closed tired," welcome to a well-timed long weekend!

This month we're highlighting Brooke Vongsvirates...who would be doing her own highlighting if this school psych thing didn't work out. Thank you for the many ways you support your school communities!

From assessing students to being asked if she knew where the class pet went, Dr. Megan Bennett recognizes that there is never a dull moment in this job. We're thankful for her service, flexibility, and advocacy for students, staff, and families.

We might be living with a hiring freeze for the rest of this school year, but we're able to hire for open school psychologist positions for next school year. Email us with questions and go to careers.wcpss.net to apply.

Teamwork makes the dream work.
Our School Psychology Leadership Team was hard at work on Friday, but they stopped long enough for a group photo.

There's SNOW way we would have such amazing professional learning without our PL Design Team. Not only did they work on ideas and plans, they had a lot to celebrate!

I spent my afternoon learning about TBI things with our TBI Team...which is at least 30 psychs strong. We have a lot of smart people supporting our students. And they have good snacks.

We also celebrated the work of Petals & Charlotte who are retiring at the end of January. We are thankful for their service and lasting impact. Enjoy the next chapter!

We had our last staff meeting of 2024 this morning. There were updates with a couple of lumps of coal (sorry, friends) and incredible and informative breakout sessions.
Many thanks to our presenters and facilitators. Our favorite way to learn is from each other.

Santa came early and dropped off a stack of books to help us expand our knowledge and skills. Twenty-one of our psychologists have elected to read this as an independent book study. Thanks, Santa!
