Well, that was not Elena Colas' day, unfortunately - but still: She won silver. And I am very happy for Minamino Yume, who had the best and cleanest competition of the day and deserved to win today. 3rd places goes to Nishiyama Misa.

With Colas' UB desaster, she needs to improve her last two routines to still win this if Nishiyama hits her QF scores. This could be very close.

The CAS has ruled against multiple feds that had a blanket ban against Russian athletes recently, and ordered them to allow AINs under the IOC framework. So I expect Russia to file a case against European Gymnastics if they keep their ban, as they just did against the FIS' blanket ban.

I think it's fair to say the IOC is more than a bit mad about Indonesia and the FIG. They basically just de-facto-banned Indonesia from hosting competitions for the time being and summoned the Indonesian NOC and the FIG to explain themselves at the IOC headquarters. www.olympics.com/ioc/news/ioc...

Carlos Yulo is out of the AA competition.
Two-time Olympic champion Carlos Yulo will only compete on floor and vault this week in Jakarta. He says he's been dealing with an injured wrist in the lead up.
"I still want the taste of competition. That is the most important for me right now."
