Waking up this morning to a way lower payout from Patreon than what I've been relying on didn't really help. Feels like a very tangible sign of "you should be doing more"

I will note though, the weapon durability doesn't really bother me. If you think about it, it's really not all that different from having a limited amount of ammo to find and use.

In the long run I'll take the experimentation. The combat is a very core mechanic and is ever-present but so far the rest of the experience has been great enough to make up the difference for me

...but in my experience it just makes running into enemies feel slow and tedious, if not frustrating becuase thay all move in very inhuman ways that are hard to read leading taking to annoying hits and they feel less scary when you stand close enough to lick them just waiting for them to move.

The game very clearly wants you to counter enemies and rewards you for doing so but in relying on this, fights with each enemy feels very slow and I find myself getting right up to enemies. Ideally this should make encounters feel scary cause you gotta take them in up-close...

The combat is strange to me in the sense that it's good on a technical level but feels a bit out of place because of how it works. I don't have a problem with Hinako being capable in a fight, it fits with her character and the narrative.

The issue is more with the Counter mechanic

When the action DOES hit, it's loud, relentless, goes on for like a half hour and hits you in the face like a series of obnoxious explosions (appropriately) but it all lands and works because it's gorgeous, badass, and all centered around characters you understand and care about.
