Train ride to visit family this morning. Beautiful scenery and a guy across the aisle brought a whole 1.5 qt moose tracks ice cream as a snack. Great trip!

Volunteered at a MDSPCA adoption event, and this cutie got himself a new family! Day well spent, even if it's a 3 bus trip out to the event.

Watching GBBO's "back to school" episode and baffled by all the bakes.

Flapjacks are granola bars, not pancakes? Why are we serving pourable custard with frosted sponge cake? Is a school fete literally any school event?

A few favorite signs from today's Hands Off Baltimore protest - keep 'em coming

Ada Limón Instructions on Not Giving Up More than the fuchsia funnels breaking out of the crabapple tree, more than the neighbor’s almost obscene display of cherry limbs shoving their cotton candy-colored blossoms to the slate sky of Spring rains, it’s the greening of the trees that really gets to me. When all the shock of white and taffy, the world’s baubles and trinkets, leave the pavement strewn with the confetti of aftermath, the leaves come. Patient, plodding, a green skin growing over whatever winter did to us, a return to the strange idea of continuous living despite the mess of us, the hurt, the empty. Fine then, I’ll take it, the tree seems to say, a new slick leaf unfurling like a fist to an open palm, I’ll take it all.

My dog has done himself an injury, so we are snuggling and watching Courage the Cowardly dog, to encourage us to be brave in the face of weird threats to our constitutions, bodily and civic.

A pink cartoon dog stares in terror at an old school tv or possibly computer monitor. The black monitor has a screen that glows green, but it faces away from us, so we cannot see what horrors it contains. The pink dog has eyes wide with eyebrows scrunched in concern. His teeth are bared in a grimace and his tiny pink paws are held to his face as if in shock. Getting some protein in before the Puppy Bowl starts.
Pitbull mix dog, white with gray patches, gets to lounge on his dog bed and lick the remaining greek yogurt out of a near empty tub. This is so exciting, his eyes are a little wild and there are smears of yogurt on his nose that he will have to lick off later.
