Doing into this today - I'll be Cleomenes in The Winters Tale for our December 8 Shakespeariment production in Berlin.

We get a 90-minute version, learn the lines in a month, rehearse once for two hours and then put it on to a packed audience, similar to the original troupe.

A: Games for an Ordinary Life is a poetic art zine of short, sweet and dangerous minimalist games.

This 36-page collection has 15 games, 5 evocative linocut illustrations and a new system. It's my sketchbook from the 36-Word RPG Jam.

Share a bucket of marbles, glass tokens or stones name three shared treasures that cannot be abandoned. you carry them together. you walk a long path say something meaningful about a treasure to step together they ask if it’s a truth or a lie a truth hurts them a lie hurts you bottle up your hurts until the vessel is full. use the stones. carry on until you can't anymore The Power & Principle system uses a standard deck of 52 playing cards, jokers removed. Challenges For any situation requiring adjudication, the narrator draws two pairs and lays them face up as the Encounter and the Expectation. Encounter (L) represents the physical, social or mental challenge Expectation (R) represents a principle, moral or emotional expectation of the moment. The player draws a hand of two cards - one for Power and one for Principle. To succeed in a challenge, they must play one of their cards on a pair that is equal to or between the values of the pair. (A card can be used once.) A diagram of this in action. The Encounter draw has 7♠ & Q♦, and the Expectation draw has 4♥ & 9♣. The player hand has 3♥ & 8♠ In this case, only one pair can be solved, and the player must choose. The 8♠ can be played on either challenge, but the 3♥ can not be played anywhere.

I know of a couple other kings who were unsatisfied with the natural order asked their magicians to conjure them something new, and that story always goes well, doesn't it.

One of the many reason I felt drawn away from blacksmithing was that there was a gap between the artistic conversations I wanted to have, the type of work I wanted to do and who could actually afford it.

I love the work I did, but I wish it wasn't just for private homes of rich people.

This is such a mediative part of the process for me. Here's two hours of work. You can see the cityscape here is very tight - I actually ought to get a better small v pfeil (cutting knife) for the details, but my resources have been very thin lately.

Tried a new linoleum transfer method and I'm happy with the results so far. These blocks are almost ready to carve!

This question, even implied, always bothers me because it creates artificial conditions under which it's impossible succeed.

I saw these two deeply relevant Calvin and Hobbes comics today. Bill Watterson being somehow more relevant 30 years later.

And here's my process - loose sketches and idea generation leads to thumbnails then to working on tracing paper to pin down the details I like.

Here they are if you don't want to go clicking around to my blog. What I like is that they somehow aligned with elemental themes. Here's an earth, an air, a water and a fire.
