Rain and cold today so no outside spray clear coating on the finish. I just laid out some of the hardware to see how it looks?
It will be next week before I have the time to work on this build again tho....🙁

Mixed a new stain with red raw umber artists oil paint for the new project kit build. It turned out nicely rich although I thought it might be a bit redder? Still tho--like it!
did the neck and the top/sides of the body..later this week the back. 🙂

The next build....
October 18, 2025 at 3:18 AM
Almost finished....
October 9, 2025 at 3:18 AM
The latest guitar build.
October 7, 2025 at 2:44 AM
My latest build...
haven't been on here a lot lately...
not a lot of guitar people...? 🙄
So I am guitar talking on the other place...

All my guitar stuff is on hold while I am playing catch up yard guy due to monsoon here..🙄I've got a ton of guitar 💩to do
but yard stuff now takes a lot out of me...hoping to test this new pedal, test the double neck build, and work out some stuff for my guitar students before saturday...🙄

Med appoints got in the way alot this week but----
today
Tuned it and letting it sit another couple of days before
checking the actions and making any necessary adjustments...so close to the end.
June 27, 2025 at 2:27 AM
Strung the 12 neck today--OMG zero hand room between the 6&12 neck but got it done. It still makes test noise so letting it set for a couple of days before tuning, adjusting action and trying it.
Jimmy Page's guitar tech must have HATED string changing his double neck...damn...🙄
June 21, 2025 at 2:46 AM
hobbled to the studio-first time in days and
strung the 6 side of the double neck project and adjusted the bridge. Didn't tune it-letting it sit for a bit.
Tested it and it makes noise so...kinda pleased...

I read a review of this in Guitar World magazine and couldn't resist ordering it right away...
excellent reviews all around...
June 13, 2025 at 1:57 AM
Some success today-I got 3 pickups working-the 12 string bridge pickup doesn't work but I'd never use it so
I considered myself lucky and sealed everything up.
Next-
1 or 2 minor things, string it, adjust p/u's bridges etc. and test it.

Cancelled my guitar lessons for the upcoming Saturday....
I need some time to catch-up with the world around me.
Clean, organize the studio--and think...plus make a decision on the double neck project build keep working on it or put it away for a while since I'm getting nowhere?

Almost done reading this
Very well done, lots of information but the first volume covering 1920 to 1955 was more interesting to me. Volume 2 I lived through 😃so it was a bit weird
but still informative in a lot of ways...
June 2, 2025 at 2:54 AM
Still working on the dbl neck and new problems every time..
😀 not whining just trying to figure out what to do...?
May 29, 2025 at 2:18 AM
Some progress today I enlarged the inlay hole for the third toggle switch and mounted it and installed the 2nd pickguard. Discovered however that the inlay holes for the replacement black bridge for the 6 string neck are way too too big. This kit is always a thrill...🙄
May 23, 2025 at 3:26 AM
Some success !!!😃
I found a single dislodged wire in the connectors.
I now have three pickups working so big improvement.
I'll track down several other problems but I needed a break after 3 plus hours of work on it
but---
My brain feels sooo much better with some success....😃

my wife got me as an early birthday present
an Epiphone Firebird. Love it! Have only had the time to play it for 5 minutes so far--pickups powerful, the body style is going to take me a bit to get used to🙂and the volume pots are either all up or nothing--but--I love this guitar
it sounds great!

I've been investigating EVERY firm selling a double neck kit like mine searching for a specific wiring diagram. Nothing was included in the kit I got.
I was about to give it up and I found one---
So relieved truly, bit time relieved. 😀😀😀

I've been reading today about a film...SINNERS...
a film combing horror/Vampires and
blues guitar playing set in a juke joint in 1930's Mississippi? It sounds excellent...me I'll have to wait for streaming tho...aargh...
May 6, 2025 at 2:49 AM
Some time in the studio..practiced for just me 😃 and
I installed one of the black replacement bridges I got for the dbl neck kit, while awaiting electric parts. I did the 12 string bridge. I'm worried about alignment with it
Worried about everything with this kit I guess---

My wife ordered me an Epiphone Firebird for my birthday.
I love the olive drab and black combination. I always always wanted a firebird. It's supposed to be here wednesday. 😀
May 4, 2025 at 3:11 AM
A weird day today-
A student wants to learn Lay Down Sally next week and I worked on it today because I haven't played it in years-tried to work on the dbl neck build but it's lacking parts and the switches won't fit in the kit body inlets-I ordered needed parts but..🙁
May 3, 2025 at 3:50 AM
Studio odd job day today...
cleaned the studio AC after the dust storms, working on organizing and trying some different gear and installed a sound hole pickup in this little Ibanez acoustic I've had for so long I honestly cannot remember when or where i got it...🙂
