I loved the Beat Duke! parade during my 1970s student days! I can't see it being a "thing" now.
COLUMN: Why do you think the Beat Duke Parade fizzled out?

Art Chansky writes about the bygone Chapel Hill tradition and wonders if it could ever make a return to UNC-Duke gameday.

Not a one. It’s disgraceful
I’ve been thinking and it’s kind of exceptional that not a single person said “Hey now” after the piggy comment.

I recall this pretty song with @MickyDolenz! I was age 12-15 in the Monkees' heyday and bought all their albums. Their time was a "Sweet Season,"Ms.King.😉😊
“Sometime in the Morning" (Goffin King) was recorded by @themonkees for their 1967 album More Of The Monkees. It features @MickyDolenz on lead vocals.

I don't know why the "Piggy" thing is bothering me so much. It's one more unforgivable thing in a list of 20,000 unforgivable things, but I've been mad about it for like 12 straight hours.

RIP Randy Weil. He was a great guy amongst the students, especially at Granville Towers. Very engaging. Talented in many ways: chapelboro.com/sports/chans...

Had Nov. 12, 1758, unfolded differently, you might not have heard of George Washington. Virginia regiments were caught in friendly fire, and the colonel rode out to stop it. The battlefield was lost to history.
