An IMPOSED punishment, at that.
And the system is rigged to punish as many people as possible.
People act as if "poverty" is static. Like a video game boss where you just keep playing 'til you figure out its moves. Poverty is a system. It's intentional pain—a vice that squeezes you from every side. Being impoverished isn't about lack of money. It's about lack of access. It is a punishment. 💸
Money is a constant source of stress for us all.
Nothing taught me “poverty kills you faster” more than going from barely having enough to make it to having more than enough for the bare minimum.

You REALLY could **never** budget or penny pinch your way out of poverty.
