I love the ASL translator’s “Come for me.” Appreciate you, @AOC.
AOC: Tom Homan said he was going to refer me to DOJ because I’m using my free speech rights in order to advise people of their constitutional protections… to that I say: Come for me… Do I look like I care?

There’s nothing illegal about it and if they want to make it illegal, they can come take me.

Elon Musk and DOGE have spent the past 100 days threatening the nonpartisan civil service who deliver essential services to all Americans.

We’ve spent the past 100 days in court, bringing 59 legal actions against the Trump administration.

And we’re just getting started.

Our absent “leaders”
Elected official have the power to attract media and focus attention on issues and events in ways few other people in society can. A 1000 person protest is a minor blip. A 1000 person protest with a Senator speaking is a major news event.
5/ Not the most important thing about today, but as a matter of *politics,* the failure of (at least) progressive politicians in SF and elsewhere to show up to events like this is a quick path to irrelevancy.

Protest reports. 👇👇
Seen a couple of great threads of images from today's protests. Normally I like to do those myself, but I didn't have the time today.

But I thought it would be neat to do a thread of some local coverage.

Let's start in...IDAHO?!

Hundreds turn out to protest actions taken by Trump administration
A rain-soaked afternoon wasn’t enough to deter hundreds of Idahoans from rallying at the Idaho State Capitol on Presidents Day to voice their discontent with the current United States administration

It’s time to do what we do best: Make Republicans squirm and ensure Democrats fight like hell.

Your representative is back home for recess and we’ve got events planned across the country (including Tesla dealerships).

We know that showing up works and the stakes are too high to stay home. LFG. 👇

So, so true
Anyway, I again just want to say that finding moments of happiness amid soul-crushing stories day after day after day is a good thing, actually. Necessary, even.

New: Elon Musk relied on undocumented workers to help build Tesla's gigafactory in Texas. He later propagated anti-immigrant sentiment to vault himself into political power alongside President Trump.

There’s no food shortage, but we’re definitely short on compassion and just plain common sense.
