I’ve collected architectural fabrics for years and finally assembled some of them into a quilt top.

A sunflower for Ukraine.

I was working on this piece that has been hibernating. A friend observed that it looked like the flag of Ukraine. I added the field of wheat and sunflowers. Thinking of all the Ukrainians both in the country and the diaspora.

A quilted wall hanging that distracted me from the dire news in the US. Spring is coming. Justice will prevail.

I’m working on quilting a whole batch of floral wall hangings that I pieced last year. They’ve been languishing.

The outrageous lies and capitulation to try and sell Ukraine down the river is infuriating.

I found the stripes already assembled in my scraps. Now I have to figure out how to widen it. A decision for another day. Also, national archivist was illegally sacked and funding for health research has cut. Bannon refers to ‘muzzle velocity’ - this firehouse of Felon47&Musk’s stupid actions.

No scrap left behind. This is made with ‘orphan blocks’- left over from other projects. A solid color border may calm this down.

I accumulate all my scraps in old pillowcases and label it TEXTILE SCRAPS and bring it to Goodwill where I hope it gets recycled.

Still seething about current events.

I added a couple borders and I think it helped a lot.

My neutral color scrap quilt is finally finished.

This scrap quilt is taking way longer than I imagined and my machine is breaking thread and skipping stitches. Working with only a vague plan.

Laying out the scrap quilt. Ignoring the political situation.

I’m working on an ‘after quilt’. Soooo many scraps from the last one! I like where this is heading. While I work I’m listening to books by William Kent Krueger. It’s a distracting series about a former sheriff in Tamarack County, Minnesota. I am thankful. I pray for our country.

To keep myself from dwelling on reality, I’m quilting.

This is a painting by Alma Thomas, an African-American woman artist and educator. One of her pieces was the first by a woman of color to be added to the collection at the White House

Finished an appliqué wall hanging today.

There aren’t enough visuals on Bluesky IMHO. Here’s a mixed media piece I made.

I’m here and I have no idea what I’m doing!
