This one's more of a personal preference thing but I try to have all my shopping done by December 1st even if I haven't mailed everything yet. I love Christmas kitsch and aesthetics and I want to just be able to marinate in that without having to worry about what I'm getting people. Try it out!

OH ONE MORE THIS ONE'S IMPORTANT: ask mutual friends!! they can be a rich source of intel for presents especially if you have a general idea but need to drill down

- Be careful with HOBBY GOODS. If you know someone v well this can be a home run but buying niche stuff is very risky if they're particular. (It's me, I'm that person!)
- And going forward, if you hear someone say "X would be nice, but I [can't be arsed/don't have the money/etc]", WRITE THAT DOWN.
