Spot on! Interesting that you wouldn’t take the old DWP approach if you were running other types of public services - the moral judgement was baked in.
As well as cutting health & disability benefits, the government plans to introduce conditionality for many people currently exempt from it

I explained to the Work & Pensions Select Committee yesterday that NEF's work shows this won't be an effective way to engage this group with employment support

Good to see the tide turning with a 3% increase in real terms in the public health grant (5.4% cash uplift). Still hugely lower than it used to be but I’m sure public health teams will make the most of it.
