Gizmo 3.0
Latest addition to the fleet of epaper devices displaying random quotes using the unix fortune command. This one is Hitchhiker’s guide to the galaxy themed.
They run on ESP32 board and update periodically over wifi from my home raspberry pi server.

Trekkie version

It’s four color epaper, each pixel can be black, white, red, yellow. At cost of longer refresh time, about 10s. It seems to have multiple layers that refresh individually. There are also 7-color ones that can do this (painting mine in Procreate)

Art meets technology. 4color 2.9” epaper display, ESP32 board, updating the bitmap regularly from my home Raspberry Pi over wifi (dedicated secure network for my fleet of epapers). Screen is generated using ImageMagick.
Casing is fimo clay and metallic acrylic paint.
