Just an idea for you to tweet (or whatever you use these days) An alternative strategy for limiting flights from major airports would be closing small (private jet) airports and sending those air traffic controllers to the main hubs. But that would impact private jets and that would be terrible.

Important context to the Supreme Court ruling is that Tennessee only has one gender clinic for kids and it performs 5 top surgeries per year.

This entire "debate" is about a phenomenon — large numbers of kids being rushed into hormones and surgeries — that doesn't exist.

On average, VUMC has provided five gender affirming surgeries to minors every year since its transgender clinic opened in 2018. All were over the age of 16 and had parental consent, and none received genital procedures.

This is the big, irreversible truth about Donald Trump's second presidency. No one can safely count on any of the promises, agreements, arrangements, or understandings that life runs on. Noncitizens are the first and easiest targets. Holding a properly issued student visa doesn't mean you can complete your term of studies; holding lawful permanent residency doesn't mean you can lawfully permanently reside here. Protected legal status doesn't mean you can't be grabbed in "error" and imprisoned abroad and denied recourse. Entering the United States on a valid visa doesn't mean you're able to travel freely and it doesn't mean you won't suddenly lose that visa. The First Amendment doesn't mean you're allowed to lead a protest or participate in a protest or go near a protest or publish your opinion in the newspaper. But immigration status is only one of the many pillars of people's existence that the administration claims the power to kick away. Working under a government grant doesn't mean you'll get paid your grant money. Having a legally protected government job doesn't mean you won't be arbitrarily fired, or if you aren't fired, it doesn't mean you'll have an office. Enrolling in a government-backed medical study doesn't mean you'll get treatment. If you're on Social Security, the government won't necessarily send you your check, or answer the phone when you try to find out where your check went. The food inspectors won't necessarily be around to inspect the food. Law firms can't represent certain causes or clients without the risk of retaliation.

A portion of John Quincy Adams' Amistad argument before SCOTUS: "I will not recur to the Declaration of Independence--your Honors have it implanted in your hearts--but one of the grievous charges brought against George III. was, that he had made laws for sending men beyond seas for trial. That was one of the most odious of those acts of tyranny which occasioned the American revolution. The whole of the reasoning is not applicable to this case, but I submit to your Honors that, if the President has the power to do it in the case of Africans, and send them beyond seas for trial, he could do it by the same authority in the case of American citizens. By a simple order to the marshal of the district, he could just as well seize forty citizens of the United States, on the demand of a foreign minister, and send them beyond seas for trial before a foreign court."
