Interesting lineup for that NSO announcement. They threw Nester in the dust bin and picked the better bowling game. And a NA release of Innsmouth No Yakata is wild

They should make a third bowling game on the Virtual Boy. Give a venerable Japanese dev a shot. We need another one. Nester can't be the second best bowling game on any system.

I did not attempt to rehabilitate the Virtual Boy in my latest for Endless Mode, but I did lament that the limits of the technology and disinterest in exploring it further kept us from ever seeing what developers would eventually be capable of with it, as happens with every platform given time.

New episode! The highs and lows of the VB library in full force this month with a kinda-bad baseball game and one of Nintendo's finest moments. virtualboy.blog/posts/2025-0...

Don't listen to this episode expecting any funk. You won't find any. Ep. 5 - Vertical Force and Nester's Funky Bowling drops tomorrow. Here's a link to listen early.

It would be unusual, as the game was never released in Japan.

Does anyone have information on Nintendo R&D3's involvement on Nester's Funky Bowling? It's cited on wikis and in Virtual Boy Works, but not listed in-game or on Moby Games.

Sorry to report....Nester's Funky Bowling does not respect the funk

Having an okay time with Vertical Force so far. But then you see the transition into Stage 5 from the Stage 4 boss and your love of video games and the bespoke technology they're built on is re-ignited.

Next month we will be playing Nester’s Funky Bowling and Vertical Force.

Praying for a Hudson Soft classic here.

Due to sickness we are pushing back the release of our Golf/Virtual Fishing episode 1 week! In the meantime I picked up a Virtual Boy controller and will be dropping a mini episode Monday with some thoughts on it and the lineage or Nintendo controllers

One of the lovely discoveries in undertaking this project - finding that the Virtual Boy fishing game would end on a note of quiet mystery and camaraderie in the graceful embrace of mother nature

Red Viper is the only emulator I’ve used so far that emulates the speed of Golf correctly. If anyone knows of a PC/Linux emulator that handles the shot execution sequence slow enough to actually hit anything with intention let me know!!!
