I'm no epidemiologist, but my understanding is that for hemorrhagic fever, contact with contaminated bodily fluid is the usual vector. But that covers everything from getting blood on your skin to cleaning the clothes of someone infected.

Hence "new form" and "like".

If this is accurate it sounds like a form of hemorrhagic fever- marburg, ebola, etc.

Fortunately, such diseases tend not to spread far because they're so deadly and their vectors tend to be bodily fluids, making them less contagious than Airborne viruses like covid or flu.

I get that not everyone is a particle physicist, but the amount of scientific illiteracy in this country is absolutely *maddening*.

Fourth- 3 states of matter? That's on par with saying that there's only four elements. Depending on how you define "state of matter" there's at least four- or more than twenty.

Second- this isn't the first time someone announced they'd created Majorana fermions. Microsoft itself had to retract a 2018 paper published in Nature, in 2021.

Third- it's possible that this is based on the theorized behavior of Majorana fermions being exhibited by other phenomena.
