I am the primary breadwinner for a normal American family in 2025, I just wanna be able to keep feeding my cats, my crow pals and whoever likes enchiladas I guess because I only know how to make like a million and have leftovers for weeks and basically eat nothing else

I think they believe in money and *comfort* but can't acknowledge power at all, especially when they themselves wield it. They view money as power, not as a tool used by power. They can't see the world outside the Line Goes Up™ game anymore. It doesn't exist to them.

I've noticed this pattern too. At this point, I'm convinced so much of "The Way Things Are™" is driven by conscous, deliberate choices to do harm and diminish value, meaning and physical resources necessary for life. Leadership in nearly every culture is fueled by willful nihilism.
