I really didn't need to build my system on AM5, as AM4 has plenty enough slot bandwidth for Arc B580. Its only Gen4.
AM5 pick was with the assumption that the socket would be still around when it comes time to upgrade.
At least got 32gb ram, so good as long nothing breaks. (Overkill on linux tho)

Yeah, what I figured was that EXPO is more of an older CPU thing, like AM4 socket. XMP seems kinda universally accepted now.

Original post was really more about how RAM prices just went absolutely nuts lately.

its too much a diss on win10 to call it being similar to win11, but yeah, I get what you mean. While win10 wasnt perfect, it did things way better than the slop 11 was.

Why on earth would you even use W11 though?

If it were just bad coding, but their whole evil corporation part is showing through bit too much with the forced MS account and facial recognition on Onedrive.

11 couldve been a win8 tier mediocre OS, but then 2022 happened and everything since then has been only spaghetti vibecoded, resulting in a garbage unoptimised mess.

Like, imagine something like IRC, not bound to a megacorpo server. And images hosted on a private server on minimum expenses. I guess it's an utopia too difficult to imagine these days.
