His first album on Contemporary Records had this cover but it was recorded in 1954 so I think the black and white cover is the same material... these things have been released so many times throughout the years it's hard to tell without matching up the tracks

My dad played a ton of stuff with Barney Kessel - all over the place - Harry was on Barney's first album on Contemporary... here's a shot of them in 1947 with Benny Carter at the Club Morocco, Johnny White on piano

No - he was writing his memoirs when he was very ill but he didn't get to those years sadly... the coolest thing to come from this was from Dec. '47, when Dodo, Jackie and Harry recorded as the Dodo Marmarosa Trio on DIAL and Harry recorded the first pizzicato cello tracks in jazz history

I had the honor of working as a Grip on La Bamba... we recreated the airport scene at a little Pacoima airport called Whiteman Airport, that I coincidentally grew up across the street from... Ritchie Valens was a hometown hero to Pacoima so it meant a lot to me to be a part of that film... ♥️

Happy Anniversary to my parents, Harry and Barbara Babasin, on what would have been their 75th wedding anniversary... married on January 24th, 1950, after only two weeks of courtship... here they are on that day with my mother's parents, Russ and Marybell... always love to my parents ♥️

My father was one of the greatest bassists in jazz history playing and recording with people like Louis Armstrong, Charlie Parker, Benny Goodman, Lionel Hampton and hundreds of others... I have a nice page at FB but this platform is limited so far... here he is with Bird and Chet Baker in 1952
