Welcome to the time of year when people reveal their number of books read and inevitably get judged for it so can we just skip the judgment part this year? Whatever your number is, I hope you had some awesome reads and it brought you peace and joy.

Libraries matter now more than ever. They stand for the powerful idea that knowledge is free and belongs to everyone. In a time when books and free thought are under threat, we must defend and support our libraries and librarians—they are guardians of access, learning, and freedom.

Here's your daily reminder that bookstores keep the love of reading alive — but they also keep neighborhoods beautiful. They are places to gather, to celebrate stories, to find community.
