New paper out today by Parks et al. Nature showing widespread fire deficit still present across North America, despite recent iuptick in fires. doi.org/10.1038/s414.... Further, contemporary fire extent is not unprecendented in tree rig record. Synthesis by Powell Center.

scene is under such stress. Sad to be in WI, the state with the lowest national spending per capita on arts in a county where it is patently easier to support private schools and non school arts opportunities for some kids rather than support all!
