Actually, that sounds very similar to the concept of figure and background in Gödel, Escher, Bach 😄

Also, is the negation operator even universal? What happens if you apply it to an idea with a more neutral connotation (e.g. tree). I guess you get the whole set of ideas that are not trees?

There is, however, a set of moves in the idea space to go from one to another. Disease - harm + benefit = gut microbiome. I guess we're negating an idea adjacent to disease (harm) and combining the two.

Great article!
Do you think it's actually fair to say, though, that the negation operator is what transforms disease to "good disease"? E.g. we don't consider gut microbiome to be a good disease, but rather a symbiotic relationship.

The obvious correct answer to “is it conscious” is “we don’t know.” This is also the correct answer for a chair, or a piece of glass. We don’t have a test for consciousness.

Isn't this generally the case in other libraries? The layout information is separate from the values themselves, both in memory and the API

Oo that looks interesting, thanks. It doesn't have to provide a view into existing platforms.

I think the reason is because if I block or delete the apps, but I still actually want access to them, eventually I'll unblock/reinstall. But as long as access is still possible (although impractical because I don't carry the second phone with me and it's tucked away), the brain is happy ☺️

If wayland is the long term goal, why implement X11? For wayland-incompatible apps, or?
