A South Indian myth on the origins of the Malabar Pied Hornbill.

A cowherd denied water to a sacred cow, committing a grave sin. As punishment, Vishnu transformed him into a hornbill with a unique bill, doomed to drink only by looking skyward during rain.

Jayanagar turned 76 recently. The complex we see here however was built in 1976, on what was once a playground.
Also, can you take a guess at the bus number of the double-decker in the picture?

I don't know anything like time-beats and metre
nor the arithmetic of strings and drums;
I don't know the count of iamb and dactyl.
My lord of the meeting rivers,
as nothing will hurt you
I'll sing as I love.
