Whilst telling us that record numbers of people are not working since 2019, but not acknowledging that we have had a pandemic in that time and definitely not acknowledging that people are still becoming too ill to work all the time because it's definitely not over.

My last chest infection was 2019 - I usually have 3 or 4 a year. Respirators have made such a difference to my health.

Can't believe he didn't realise how tone deaf this was, although I'm angry about loads of things and can't afford to send my kids to private school, so I guess we're the same? 🤔

Yes, as awful as it was, it might not be a bad thing that this has forced leaders to speak out instead of tiptoeing around the situation as they continue to get further out of control. It's only been 5 weeks, the world can't take 4 years of this.

I've been saying for years now, we won't do anything about this situation until enough people are sick enough for the economy not to function. It's the only thing anyone cares about.

Absolutely this - when people tell me "masks don't work" they are almost always referring to baggy blue masks, worn on the end of their chins, and they are right about that.
