Whilst telling us that record numbers of people are not working since 2019, but not acknowledging that we have had a pandemic in that time and definitely not acknowledging that people are still becoming too ill to work all the time because it's definitely not over.

My last chest infection was 2019 - I usually have 3 or 4 a year. Respirators have made such a difference to my health.

Yes, as awful as it was, it might not be a bad thing that this has forced leaders to speak out instead of tiptoeing around the situation as they continue to get further out of control. It's only been 5 weeks, the world can't take 4 years of this.

Absolutely this - when people tell me "masks don't work" they are almost always referring to baggy blue masks, worn on the end of their chins, and they are right about that.
