I am begging Mt Sinai not to use MyChart to announce basic holiday office hours. I didn’t log in just to read a message that could have been an email.

I think I've developed a crush on Sean Baker in 3 acceptance speeches?

I am such a sucker for a montage.

I love this for them but I also think it was very formative for me to be scared straight into good dental practices in my 20s by a Russian dental hygienist who clearly went to the KGB school of dentistry. Thank you Ludmilla for my good flossing habits.
I just need a moment to acknowledge the leaps in pediatric dentistry. My kid gets to watch Netflix in the ceiling while hugging a Dino wearing sunglasses. I was sliding down an adult sized chair with a torture device in my mouth being lectured about Ross Perot.

My therapist suggested that I might be a perfectionist and I don't know if I agree because I feel like if I was a perfectionist I'd be a LOT better at all the things I try to do.

Back to term ones rules: if you’re going to say “I can’t believe Trump/they did that!” I’m going to need you to be a little bit more specific.

One of my favorite New York things is when you see someone (a stranger) distinctive enough to remember and then hours later you see them somewhere else and you’re like- hey I know you!

How is it that you can find almost any food in New York except the one thing I want the most right now.

Thinking A Complete Unknown was a ploy by the cigarette industry to get kids to give up vapes and go back to smoking. Hell, maybe I’ll take up smoking.

Something to be said for being relaxed and well rested- I got personal best times on the NYT Crossword two days in a row!

I'm sure Grover Cleveland is rolling over in his grave having lost the distinction of being the only non-consecutive President. He's left with having had the youngest First Lady due to marrying a 21 year old (who he had helped raise and first met as a baby), while President at age 49.

Underrated part of my annual Halloween experience is answering the door for the food delivery person while half made-up.

When I was a kid I thought my dad was quirky for his post-work walks and for listening to talk radio to fall asleep...still not totally seeing the correlation to the walks *I* take after work or that I can't fall asleep without listening to a boring podcast.

It's wild how long it took humans to invent comfortable furniture (Western European humans specifically, I'm not as sure about the others).

For what it's worth for current passport processing times, I mailed mine in for renewal on June 26 and got it back today, July 12. Just regular processing, not expedited.

Hybrid work schedule = going to the office during a heatwave because the AC is better.

I have to renew both my passport and my driver’s license this year which feels like a crime.

The one time I got stopped at a subway checkpoint to be searched by the NYPD, I had just been shopping and my bag was full of underwear. I think we were both embarrassed.

And here I thought it was just because we were in California and technically didn't need coats. (I would have liked to be a bit warmer though 🙃)
Every fifth grader in the history of America has believed this, and I think that’s beautiful. This was my exact sentiment in 1996. When you are 11, jackets are for suckers

When Ash Wednesday falls on Valentine's Day, they should do the ashes in a shape of a little heart. I think that would be nice.

Omg this is so exciting, Richard Norwood is my many times-great grandfather!

Snow is fine, snow is not the problem. The problem is giant sheets of ice on the sidewalk from unshoveled snow getting stamped down and re-frozen.

Spotify needs to have an option where if you click on a song's menu, you can see what playlists you've put it on.

My biggest pet peeve is when eye makeup tutorials don't show you the full face after- I need to see if that intense makeup looks ok from far away.
