I think I only vaguely remember goonbot but in general I miss the whimsy and intent of bots from that era. iirc one of mine had commands to randomly select a smash bros brawl character or suggest a bagel to order.

hi, the "shift out" and "shift in" control codes (14, 15) have no connection to the shift key or the case of letters. its actual effect depends on the context. (more detail: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shift_O...)

i like that’s extremely easy, but also completely obtuse. i had no idea what to do half the time. felt like i was doing a dark souls NPC quest. like what do you mean if i eat enough fruit the level just ends
