Hobbyist photographer and programmer.
I also like glitch art.
When I'm not outside I'm working on a glitch inspired image filters web app for desktop: https://vismga.com/VisGlitch/
Fun fact when I initially started working on this project my first concept was a music visualizer. Now 10+ years later I'm finally working on the audio reactivity part.

Audio here from the Risk of Rain 2 soundtrack by Chris Christodoulou.

Some flashing lights warning.

Work was exhausting this week and I didn't want to go outside today so I did more work on my app instead.
Tweaking shaders, adding more options.

Split "cubic" controls into x and y axis so they can be controlled separately.

I added a .webp compression option to the data corruption mode.

I guess I'm collecting photos of other birds attacking bald eagles now. Here's an osprey I saw yesterday.

I can barely tell anything beyond the shape and color here. Would you say it looked more like an insect eating beak than a seed eater? Any size estimate?

Sometimes something happens and you just have to hope your camera settings are good enough where they're already at. I had so little time to react to this, and the light and background changed as they flew across the lake.

Crazy way to see a peregrine falcon for the first time.

A touch of color at sunrise on a morning I wasn't already at work by this time of day.

There's some very low tides in the Salish Sea this week. Here's a gull doing some fishing in a tide pool. This move they do really amuses me.

One of my favorite birds is back flocking in the area. I love cedar waxwings. #birds #photography

Not usually one to spend a lot of time taking pictures of flowers, but I sure saw a lot of flowers yesterday.
I think they're rhododendrons? Not a plant expert by any stretch.

Just before the chase began. This angle shows just how big of a prize that fish was.
Learning more about editing.

Messing around with recording video a bit. Here's a marsh wren singing on a branch. (featuring a background of many other birds).
I love the range of sounds they make.

A female common merganser protects her catch.
It's amazing how fast they can swim!

Glitch bloom dawn.
Got my development stuff transferred to a computer with a fully working keyboard so maybe I'll get back to updating my image manipulation program again.

I watched this crow pester the bald eagle for nearly half an hour. Eventually it was successful in driving the eagle away. Or possibly the eagle decided it had somewhere else to be.

I finally got some clear, close, and in focus shots of marsh wrens this week after trying for a couple of weeks.

Their song is one of the first I've learned to be able to identify because of its uniqueness.

I feel like I need birdsong flashcards.

I was pleasantly surprised to see how the out of focus areas of this image of a kingfisher turned out. I'm almost more interested in the background than the subject here.

Caught this marsh wren collecting cattail fluff yesterday morning.

The quest for a good clear picture of one of these little birds continues, but I really like this shot.

Waterbirds make me wish for a newer camera with a flippy screen. I laid down on the shore of the pond so I could see these ring necked ducks through my viewfinder at their eye level.
Luckily there was a dry patch.
