As a forever DM, I loved 4e. So easy to design monsters and encounters. It was easy to teach as well, especially with power cards.
As a player, I LOVED the warlord. Also, I loved the multiclass-as-feats that didn't break the game.
Best edition for me. Been playing since BECMI D&D in the 80s.

Agree. Also, the PoL "Nentir Vale" was well done; post-colonial backwater that acknowledges empire it had been part of was shit to most of the native populations who are going thru a reemergence, and leaves the question of "what now?" in your hands.
