schlocky public domain horror is not for me (you can't manufacture camp and i will die on this hill!) but i do think it's kind of neat it's become its own sub-genre.

we went to a showing of event horizon (1997) this week and when "2015 - first humans colonize the moon" chyron popped up the entire theater let out a nice hearty chuckle
no one in our lifetime is going to live in space. in all likelihood no one will ever live sustainably in space

a very notable example of teen brains not being fully formed is that my dad tried desperately to make me into a dodgers fan in the 90s but i became a mariners fan as an act of rebellion
