That thread was full of people who have never written a large and high demand web application. Most CVEs on HN are about how a CVE was handled, reported, etc. I don’t think I saw a single discussion about it because “React”

Everything passed on my largest project except 41 lines related to Buffer<ArrayBufferLike> and some Symbols. 99%+ pass rate is excellent.

The trick is to use it when those lines are green

I try to use LLM when I can when discussing it out loud, and avoid using AI for this reason. Might not make a dent in the marketing campaign, but at least I’m doing my part

I caught one in Europe a couple of weeks ago, almost at the end of the tunnel myself. Drink lots of fluids!

Could be solving for simpler problems. I hope this isn’t one of the major arguments, but perhaps when an LLM is tokenizing the contents of a module it won’t always have the file name available, but will process the context of the pragma to produce better output tokens?

Agreed, using nvm these days is a massive mistake imo. Use Volta, proto, or mise. I never have to think about “what version do I need to use” ever again.

In my experience the only way to do this is to make enough that you can invest in others who want to live this way. Then you become a bored member who rotates between companies, with way too much free time and a plethora of creative ideas as a result

Oh, this is just perfect, I’ve been waiting for a role with a real bite. Side note: will you be accepting veneers on applicant résumés?

Thanks, I have heard of it but never knew what made it any different, I’ll have to give this a try!

It would be kind of interesting if someone made a modern, fast, and less insecure ESM-only registry, denying CJS use entirely. Does this already exist?

Great job, bravo 👏

Also since it’s completely locked down it can’t do bad things to my machines, and is fire walled as well, so it can only reach whitelisted domains. This lets me run it with `—dangerously-skip-permissions`, and I avoid having to monitor as much, which is especially useful for research & prototyping.

I use the official anthropic devcontainer example with git worktrees, it allows me to do exactly what you’re describing.

I wonder if a proof of concept fork or even patch could be worked on instead.

It’d be great to be able to say, “making this change makes medium to large projects lint there codebases 10x faster” for example.

I should just send you the code in my head, you can have the mock implementation change for each test by using a mock function (vi.fn())

I do this all the time
