My top Super Bowl memory is when Musk tweeted “Go Eagles” in 2023 from the game and then deleted it after a similar tweet from Biden got more engagement. Then he flew to Twitter HQ and demanded his workers find out why his posts were doing poorly, starting a multi-day fact finding mission.

Plainly unlawful and unconstitutional. No one can issue such an order; the President and his officers cannot simply ignore an entity created and funded by Congress.

"But maybe the biggest reason for Trump’s desire to kill the congestion charge is a phenomenon I identified the last time I wrote about this: the rage some Americans obviously feel at any suggestion that people should change their behavior for the common good."

It is not "efficient" to operate a hospital in a town of 3,900 people in a county of 8,500 people across 9,000 square miles.

It is not "efficient" to provide emergency medical services in the most isolated national park in the Lower 48.

But people's lives depend on those "inefficiencies."

The CFPB is the reason that, when my bank "misplaced" my savings, I not only found out where the money was, but got a lengthy apology letter detailing all the steps that they took which resulted their mistake.
And just like that, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau homepage, consumerfinance.gov, is being erased. As of January 30, 2025, CFPB enforcement actions resulted in
$19.7 billion in consumer relief.

"Employees of Heritage, the conservative think tank that produced the Project 2025 policy blueprint ... said they plan to use facial recognition software and a database of hacked usernames and passwords in order to identify contributors to the online encyclopedia, who mostly work under pseudonyms."
Scoop: I obtained a confidential presentation outlining how a major conservative think tanks plans to go after volunteer editors on Wikipedia who it says are "abusing their position" and promoting antisemitism

It's insane how eight years ago that North Carolina trans bathroom ban was so controversial that companies boycotted the state into a recession and now there's a bunch of "liberals" who think that it might not be such a bad idea
