So much build up of a Big Bad only to have him fizzle out in the latest Ant Man movie

evaluation of whether an extraction method "worked" or moves you in the right direction would be a challenge in itself

this is just a guess though. I'm not sure there's anyone out there who has all of (1) time, (2) subject matter expertise (in puzzles) and (3) background and expertise in AI to try it

the puzzling community from what I've seen tends to be pretty anti-AI as well

...but I think an agent with all those available tools would just flail around trying things out without getting anywhere.

it's been on the back of my mind whether one could use agentic AI to solve puzzles. one could try to define various tool calls to try out all kinds of different information extraction methods (there are many but puzzle designers tend to reuse methods)...

and as usual, AI and ChatGPT are totally worthless when it comes to puzzle solving

Taking a quirky hobby I picked up in grad school where I first made some friends, and introducing people to that same quirky hobby to the point where I've built up a little community over a common interest has been rewarding

I feel like I should compile a list of movies and games I've watched/played over the course of each year. for the former I suppose that's what letterboxd is for?

What happened (if you don’t mind sharing any details)?
November 11, 2025 at 6:57 PM
I’m not, I was born and raised in the United States, and this is my home. And much as I wish I had a stronger connection with my Indian heritage, I don’t really have much of one.

Being asked “are you from India?” first would annoy me a lot less
November 11, 2025 at 6:47 PM
I understand the desire to connect with someone who looks like you, especially for immigrants (my parents are immigrants). But it’s a major pet peeve of mine when people just look at me and think I’m from India.
