Movies I rewatched this weekend:

5. Ladies Vs Ricky Bhel: A terrific cast, but take #parinetichopra and recast every #aliabhatt movie with her, every Bhatt movie will get elevated (before you roll your eyes, watch her in this and imagine her as Rani, thats the movie we deserve).

Movies I watched this weekend

4. Another Simple Favour: silly, stupid, fun with a sensational #blakelively & #annakendrick murder in Capri.
May 11, 2025 at 1:01 AM
Movies I watched/rewatched this weekend.

3. Guru: AB over acts, Ratnam over directs, but Aishwarya, her face, her performance is a divine, hypnotic gift. Rajiv Menon cinematography is soaked in star struck bright lights & Mallika dances like a dream.
May 11, 2025 at 12:59 AM
Movies I watched:

2. Birth: Jonathan Glazer has made the sublime (Under your Skin) to the ridiculous (Zone of interest), but his Birth is mesmerising. Kidman gives her career best performance. She casts a spell from the time you lay your eyes on her. The spell stays even after the end credits.
May 11, 2025 at 12:58 AM
Movies I watched/rewatched this weekend.

1. Michael Clayton: Tony Gilroy is a genius. Tilda & Tom are excellent. But Clooney is the real deal. He is the most deluxe thing in this movie, as a fixer, his performance piercing, searing, simmering with fear, angst, and smarts.

Watching Ladies vs. Ricky. How good is this cast. Ranveer and Anushaka are so good. Parineeti Chopra is so good. She would have been better than Alia as Rani. (Before you roll your eyes, just watch her. She could do all of Alias' roles as good or better).
May 10, 2025 at 9:01 AM
Rajiv Menon cinematography captures every shade of the green grass, orange hues in the sky, and the rain drops on her face. Bring back movies that look like this, please....
May 9, 2025 at 12:21 PM
Her face card in this movie. Omfg x 100000000000. As if every angel that ever existed took time off to create this luminous face.
May 9, 2025 at 12:16 PM
The way Rajiv Menon has shot this: the lighting, the framing, the blocking 🤌 Brindas choreography - wow. Bring back cinematographers who shoot on film, not digital. Please.

Can't love Cruise anymore. Something the Khans will never do, support, empower, groom, champion, younger stars, or filmmakers. Invest their social capital in theatrical experience. They will act like entitled divas emboldened by their petulant fans. The khans have taken as much as they've given.

The 90s were unhinged. Like Rekha and Akshay Kumar doing whatever they're doing here. Omg 😲

Go out and watch a movie at the cinemas, go to a concert, a footy game, a comedy gig. Go with friends, family. A collective community experience of consuming arts or sports,
is a joy you don't want to miss.

The dancing bodies, the surfing lights, the smiling faces of strangers, it's sheer joy 😊
March 20, 2025 at 8:20 PM
The blast of neon lights, the power of her music, the euphoric crowd, the wide spread infection of joy, elation, and exuberance - wondrous, rapture.

In a world which is becoming insular and isolated and people are watching, listening, and playing alone on their phones. Melbourne is out & about.
March 20, 2025 at 8:15 PM
It was a real honour and pleasure to talk to the incredibly bright Kim Constable on the Let's Talk, Melbourne podcast.
If you want to build an empire, you'd want to listen to her.

She speaks wisely and effectively on how to be a success story.

Episode dropping this Thursday across all platforms.

I will never forgive my generation of millennials & the NRI bozos for enshrining DDLJ as the greatest Hindi movie of our times, when Rangeela (released the same year) is a fuc$ing masterpiece. RGVs towering achievement & a movie that is aged so much better than DDLJ.
