I write code for the cartoons you watch.
I take shitty pictures.
I don't know how I lasted as long as I did in Houston. 10 minutes into being outside in early spring and I'm sweating out of every pore in my body.

Lord, take me back to West Texas.

While usually I can't stand photos of the back of someone's head, the alternative here would have been for me to be in the water.

I'm a big fan of the Rollei SL26 and the negative size and aspect ratio of the mostly dead 126 🎞️ format.

I've written up a guide on an alternative way to shoot 126 as well as provided some 3d printable files to modify cartridges. Samples in the replies.

I'm a big fan of deep focus photography and the Chevrons f32 aperture gives me more than enough focal depth especially when paired with such a fast film.

My four faves.

Unlike other companies that were cloning German designs, Kodaks designs were rooted in American design trends. Also unlike their contemporaries, the engineer wasn't also the designer, they paired designers with their lead engineer.

The Medalist, Chevron, Signet 40 and Signet 80.

There isn't too much online about the 1958 Kodak Signet 80 and that's a shame.

It would have been about $1400 adjusting for inflation and was a decidedly prosumer release... it was also a flop. Read on for more about this gem and some more pictures. 🧵
