It was so weird with the late game difficulty tuning where basically everything one-shots you and invulnerability consumables become 99% of your defense.

Keep your eyes peeled for a process called MoUsoCoreWorker next time you're troubleshooting. That was the culprit for me.

Is it a PC? I had a similar problem with it not going to sleep that turned out to be caused by broken windows updates. Wild how everything in the world is half-broken all the time nowadays.
