A 31-year old unvaccinated man has just died from measles in Chihuahua, Mexico. His infection is reported to be related to the Texas outbreak.

Four unvaccinated people have died in this measles outbreak so far.

The only thing that prevents measles is the MMR vaccine.

A woman in India has just died of rabies from drinking raw milk. According to the WHO, in India, about 18,000 people die from rabies each year, and to date only 20 humans globally have ever survived rabies infection.

Worrisome—Even though a record number of kids died from the flu last year, the percentage of children getting flu shots continues to plummet—as of Nov. 30, just 37% had gotten flu shots, down from 43% at same time last year. I worry next year even worse under Trump + RFK Jr.

Working on my end-of-year analysis for public health and came across this shocking statistic:

The percent of Ameircans vaccinated for the flu has dropped from 67% in 2019 (pre-COVID) to 38% today.

Influenza has been a leading cause of death in America almost every year since at least 1980.

Denver gave people experiencing homelessness $1k/month. A year later, nearly half had housing.

They also had fewer ER visits, nights spent in a hospital, and jail stays.

The report estimates that this reduction in public service use SAVED the city $589k.
