(A) Pros:
You can use the wall for support as you go down the weird stairs.
The pit is red, like hell, but looks soft in case you end up in category (B)

(B) Cons:
Bike rack "stair rail" will cause massive accident if you stumble on stairs
Bonus: you could fall into the fireplace
